St. Theresa's Prayer

Posted on Apr 15th, 2007 by li'l p : blooming li'l p
Saint Theresa is known as the Saint of the Little Ways, meaning she believed in doing the little things in life well and with great love.

Saint Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Tarot Quiz

Posted on Feb 12th, 2007 by li'l p : blooming li'l p
I do love quizzes, personality tests and the like...any little thing that sheds a light, soooo... when I found this Tarot Quiz on MsCapriKell's   super-fun DIVINATIONS pod, I had to pass it on! It's fun! And the cards are beautiful! Here's my result:

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

Grandma's advice for life

grandma slurping clams

Welcome!

This is my first official blog! (thank you, thank you...pats on the back). So I thought it would be appropriate to dedicate it to one of the most important women in my life. My Grandma! She passed away a few years ago, but still remains such a presence in my life. I swore no-one knew life like she did -- she could peer at you with her sparkling little blue eyes and you would swear she was seeing right into your soul. She had so much faith she shone! You felt better just being in the same room with her! She was more than spiritual, she was a shaman. It wasn't uncommon for strangers to find themselves drawn to her door, knocking but not knowing why ... Oh Yes, My Grandma got it! She knew the wiring under the board...& one of her favorite pieces of literature, HER CREDO really, was this:

THE PATTERN ON THE TRESTLE BOARD

0. All the Power that ever was or will be is here now.
1. I am a center of expression for the Primal Will-to-Good, which eternally creates and sustains the universe.
2. Through me It's unfailing wisdom takes form in thought and deed.
3. Filled with understanding of It's perfect law, I am guided moment by moment along the Path of Liberation.
4. From the exhaustless riches of It's limitless substance I draw all things needful, both spiritual and material.
5. I recognize the manifestation of undeviating justice in all circumstances of my life.
6. In all things great and small I see the beauty of Divine Expression.
7. Living from It's will and supported by It's unfailing wisdom and understanding, mine is the victorious life.
8. I look forward with confidence to the perfect realization of the Eternal Splendor of the Limitless Light.
9. In thought and word and deed, I rest my life from day to day upon the sure foundation of this eternal being.
10. The Kingdom of Spirit is embodied in my flesh.

Now, she had a tattered copy of this thumbtacked to her bathroom wall and claimed she never knew who wrote it. But thanks to the Internet, I found a link to the United Gnostic Church that credits at least the translation to Rhodonn Starrus, D.D.  and Betty Jean McCloud Reeves, D.D.

This website expands a little more on each point of The Pattern, if you're interested: http://universalgnostic.com/reading/mystic/pattern.html

You know, if she were alive today, Martha Jean would definitely be a Zaadster!

Be well everyone!
